The campsite is surrounded by the unspoilt countryside of the Peak District National Park with footpaths direct from the site. Just a 3 mile walk across the fields takes you down to the popular area of Dovedale with the stepping stones and Thorpe Cloud.

If you prefer adventure or adrenalin fuelled excitement the options are endless from the caverns at Buxton to Alton Towers, Gullivers Kingdom, Go Ape, Wild Park Leisure, Crich Tramway Museum or the Midland Railway at Butterley.

If you enjoy stately homes you are spoilt with the choice the local area has to offer from National Trust properties – Sudbury Hall, Kedleston Hall, or the privately owned Chatsworth Estate, Haddon Hall and Tissington Hall to name but a few and which are all within a short drive from us.

For fresh air and exercise there are miles of way marked footpaths to explore and traffic free cycle routes along the former railway lines of the Tissington, High Peak Trail and Manifold Trails or the cycle loop around Carsington Reservoir.

Or why not enjoy taking a gentle stroll around the local market towns and villages of Ashbourne, Bakewell, Hartington, Leek and Buxton, just to name a few where you can browse the independent stores or enjoy locally sourced produce in one of the many cafes.
